The unisex Studio Apron is created with a handwoven textile from West Bengal, designed by Maku Textiles. The cotton and linen chambray blend has a denim look and is just as strong, yet far softer and less likely to crease. Nila's logo is hand-embroidered on the pocket using naturally dyed yarns. The oversized pocket, overstretched at the centre, is designed to tuck in paintbrushes, cooking utensils, or, in our case, natural dye tools and research notebooks. Heavy-duty cotton canvas ties are naturally dyed and gentle on the skin. We use these aprons daily at Nila House and find them easy, versatile and so light that a certain studio member has often been seen walking out the door wearing her apron to lunch without realising it.
50% Linen, 50% Cotton
Hand wash gently with cold water and line dry in the shade. Natural indigo is a millennia-old plant dye. The alchemy of earth, water; air, and indigo leaves creates an unpredictable beauty.
Please handle this precious piece with care, and it may last you a lifetime. Wash separately for the first few washes. The rich natural colour may fade slightly over time, with exposure to direct sunlight.
