Bamboo Napkin
Size: .55 x .55 M
Made of handwoven linen dyed in natural indigo, the bamboo napkin carries bespoke designs inspired by the bamboos in the forest, printed using natural Dhabu mud resist techniques. This simple, ancient resist printing recipe involves mud, tree gum and sawdust waste, in complete harmony with local, natural resources. The supple linen base was made at the Kanhirode Weaver’s Cooperative Society in Kannur, Kerala. Linen, usually woven on heavy-duty factory machines, changes structure considerably when adapted to handloom. The openness of the weave lends this tablecloth a textured lightness and breathability. The generous hems have been finished with mitred corners, stitched by the women of a self help group near Jaipur supported by our sister organisation.
The Bamboo napkin is a unique addition to the dining space, celebrating the beauty of handmade processes and evoking a sense of wellbeing. Pair it with our Bamboo table cloth to make a complete set of table linen, perfect for an outdoor setting or to bring a little bit of nature’s goodness indoors.
Composition & Care
100% handloom linen
Hand wash separately in cold water and line dry in the shade. The natural indigo may fade slightly over time, with exposure to direct sunlight. The textile may carry subtle irregularities - this is a part of the beauty of handwoven textiles.
