DESERT TRADITIONS: Dhabu Printing with Rekha Chippa

Rekha Chippa is one of the few women printers in Akola who continues to practice her heritage crafts of dhabu mu-resist and phetiya printing. Over the course of a decade, Rekha has trained herself to become an expert printer, who now run her own print workshop and encourages other women to engage with the crafts. This immersive workshop is a celebration of Rekha’s journey and a unique chance to learn dhabu mud-resist printing its regional nuance from a self-taught expert like her. You will be able to take home a textile handmade by you at the end of the session.

The workshop is for ages 18+. All levels of craft experience are welcome.

The workshop fee includes all materials, provided by Nila House.
