The Kalbelia are one of the largest nomad communities in Rajasthan. The kalbelias’ rich traditions of dance and music has represented Rajasthan’s cultural tourism for decades. Equally special though less well known are kalbelia textiles, particularly quilted ‘gudris’ that made using the community’s rich repertoire of traditional stitches that tell a myriad stories.

The day-long workshop will be an immersive experience that will give you an in-depth feel for the craft as well as a hands-on experience of its technical beauty. At the end of the session, you will be able take home a textile handmade by you.

The workshop is for ages 18+. All levels of craft experience are welcome.

The session will have a 1-hour break for lunch. The workshop fee includes all workshop materials and lunch.
