Kerala Tea Cloth
Size: 50 X 65 cm / 19.6 x 25.5 in
This open-weave cotton cloth was inspired by a textile being used to cover bamboo trays in a Kerala coffee house. Handwoven in the district of Bankura in West Bengal, the lightweight cotton tea cloths are designed with alternating stripes of deep natural indigo and white yarns. The hand-spun cotton yarn makes this tea cloth extremely soft and absorbent. This is a versatile product which can be used in the kitchen or as part of a tea/coffee service. These pieces are also lovely and effective as hand-towels in a guest bathroom. Made to last, the Kerala Teacloth only softens and improves with use.
100% handloom cotton
Hand wash gently with cold water and line dry in the shade. Natural indigo is a millennia-old plant dye. The alchemy of earth, water; air, and indigo leaves creates an unpredictable beauty.
Please handle this precious piece with care, and it may last you a lifetime. Wash separately for the first few washes. The rich natural colour may fade slightly over time, with exposure to direct sunlight.
