Inspired by the timeless worker jacket, Nila interprets this wardrobe classic in handwoven linen dyed with natural indigo. With a simple single collar and front panel concealing the wooden buttons, the clean lines of the jacket’s box form is given a hint of flair with a scallop-edged front. The jacket comes with pockets in front, for a relaxed feel.
The rich indigo hue of the Worker Jacket comes from a meticulous process of dyeing the yarn in natural indigo. The yarn was dyed at natural indigo vat in Maharashtra, receiving a treatment of multiple dips that takes a patient, expert hand to achieve the rich, even colour. The yarn was then handwoven into cotton linen at a studio in Gurugram. The handwoven linen carries a beautiful weight, allowing the jacket to retain its flattering shape whilst remaining supple and breathable.
The Worker Jacket is the perfect travel piece, carrying the elegance and comfort of natural materials, made by hand. The classic cut seamlessly transitions from casual to easy formal. This piece is made with great care and is meant to last a lifetime.

Natural indigo is a millennia-old plant dye. The alchemy of earth, water, air and indigo leaves creates an unpredictable beauty. The rich natural colour of the indigo may fade slightly over time, with exposure to direct sunlight. The textile may carry some imperfections; this is a part of the beauty of handwoven textiles.
