Ellipse Cushion

The Ellipse Cushion is a product of multiple craft techniques, highlighting the variety of textile crafts and able hands that exist in India. The base fabric is pure cotton, handwoven by master weavers of Murshidabad, West Bengal. The handspun yarn used for weaving the patchwork fabric has been dyed in natural indigo, six times. 

The cushion has then been stitched by the women of Tarai Blue, an organisation that supports women artisans in Tarai region of Himalayas. The women have also skillfully hand embroidered the cushion using the kantha stitch, the yarn for which has been dipped 2 times in the natural indigo vat to get the beautiful pale sky blue.

The Ellipse Cushion will elevate your living spaces by adding colour and character to your sofa or bed setting.

Composition and care: 

Pure handwoven cotton

Hand wash separately in cold water 

The rich natural colour of the indigo yarn may fade slightly over time, with exposure to direct sunlight. The textile may carry subtle irregularities – this is a part of the beauty of handmade textiles.
