MATI CUSHION

2,090MRP (Incl. of all taxes)

One of the most important symbols in Greek folklore is the ‘nazar’ evil eye that is referred to as mati (άτι). A quasi-universal symbol of protection, the evil eye is especially prominent in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and in Asia.

Inspired by ancient talismans that bear good luck, our Mati Cushion has been tie-dyed with natural indigo using the Japanese shibori technique by Sidr Craft – a social, artisan-based enterprise in Bhuj, Kutch. The soft cotton fabric has been handwoven on pit looms by artisans in West Bengal.
