Marigold Dip Dye Notebook

Designed as a space for thoughts, sketches and slow moments of reflection, Nila’s Dip Dye Artist Sketchbook brings together handmade paper, botanical colour and thoughtful craftsmanship. Naturally dyed using marigold flower extracts, the sketchbook carries golden tones inspired by sunlight and earth.

The sheets are crafted using recycled cotton fabric scraps which are gradually turned into pulp, flattened and left out to dry. Once ready, they are hand dyed using 100% marigold flower extracts, with alum used as a pre-treatment to improve dye absorption and colour fastness. Light to hold and softbound in form, the sketchbook is designed for everyday use, while its smooth grain makes it especially delightful to draw and write on.

As with all naturally dyed products, subtle variations in colour are part of the beauty of the process. The golden tones may soften gently over time, particularly with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Nila’s stationery collection is created in collaboration with Craft Boat, a Jaipur-based studio working closely with artisans through recycled paper and natural fibre textiles. Grounded in shared values of traditional practices and intentional making, the collaboration honours the rhythm of slow craft.
