Market Napkin Indigo

Size: 0.55 x 0.55 M

The Market Napkins are inspired by local bazaars of India that feature local and seasonal produce. Each napkin features an eclectic vegetable motif that has been sewed on the base fabric using applique. For this version, the different tones of Indigo are achieved from yarn dyeing in the natural indigo vatsMuch like the different motifs, the fabrics for the applique also come from different clusters in India, such as Murshidabad, West Bengal and Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh.

The base fabric has been sourced from Kanhirode, a weaver’s cooperative society in Kerala. Each napkin has been pieced together by the women artisans of Rangsutra- an organisation that ensures sustainable livelihoods for artisans and farmers by creating top quality hand made products based on the principles of fair trade and a celebration of India’s rich craft heritage.

The Market napkins can be purchased with the Market Table Cloth for a complete table set.
