Date November 29th & 30th
11 am to 5pm IST

Join us for a two-day workshop exploring Bandhani; a traditional tie-dye craft that dates back to the 12th century, introduced to Kutch by the Khatri community migrating from Sindh. The technique involves tying small portions of fabric before dyeing, creating dotted patterns that form intricate designs.

The workshop will be led by Abdulaziz Alimamad, an eleventh-generation craftsman from the Khatri community who learnt Bandhani from his grandparents at the age of twelve. With over 25 years of experience, Aziz continues to refine this craft through patience, skill, and respect for tradition.

Under Aziz’s guidance, discover the meditative process of tying, dyeing, and unveiling patterns using natural indigo. All materials will be provided, and lunch will be served to participants on both days.
