Spend two days learning the process of Bandhani with master artisan Abdullah Khatri.
Participants will learn how fabric is carefully pinched and tied at individual points before dyeing, with each tied section resisting the colour to create Bandhani’s patterns.
Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, Abdullah will introduce participants to tying, placement and pattern, and show how these decisions shape the final textile. Participants will follow the process from preparing and tying the fabric through to dyeing and opening it to reveal the pattern.
This workshop is an opportunity to learn directly from a master artisan and understand the knowledge, precision and handwork behind Bandhani.
