BLESS THE RAIN MOBILE
After a long summer, comes the rain - a respite, a blessing from nature. Sketches of the monsoon rains inspired this lyrical baby mobile, made from textile off-cuts from the Nila studio. The textiles used in the Nila collection dyed in natural indigo and handwoven on looms - processes that require a great deal of skill and patience. We believe that every scrap is precious and nothing should go to waste.
The mobile ornaments with motifs from the skies, have been hand stitched by the women of PANS, a non-profit organisation based in Jaipur, championing women's education and skills-based training to nurture their potential for economic self-sufficiency. The Nila studio team has been working with PANS for over year to create intensive craft training sessions.
This mobile is a thoughtful addition to the nursery, carrying the goodness of natural indigo and handwoven cotton whilst also embodying the meaningful values of design creativity inspired by zero-waste thinking and the empowerment of women through the strength of their craft.
100% repurposed handloom cotton, thread and bamboo frame
Hand wash gently with cold water and dry in the shade.
The textile and stitching may carry subtle irregularities; this is a part of the beauty of handmade products.
