COTTON BUD KURTA PYJAMA

Crafted for the Nila Baby in buttery soft fabric, this Kurta Pyjama draws inspiration from a cotton plant in full bloom. Designed and brought to life in our Jaipur studio, each motif unfolds in a delicate cross-stitch pattern, screen-printed using natural indigo. Precious hand-embroidery has been added to each piece as an extra special detail.  

The fabric is handwoven from kala cotton. This hardy, rain-fed cotton requires little attention but has a short staple length, making it laborious to weave. The final textile is soft to the touch and known for its comfort and breathability. Screen printing has been expertly done by Yusa Naturals, one of the few artisan organisations that prints with natural dyes – a highly technical and challenging process.  

The hand-embroidery and stitching reflect the dedication of women artisans in Jaipur, who craft each piece with care. Perfect for a growing baby seeking freedom and movement, the loose fit of the Kurta and adjustable drawstring on the Pyjama ensure versatility.
