Explore Dabu, the traditional mud-resist printing technique practised in Rajasthan.

In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how Dabu paste is prepared and applied to fabric using hand-carved wooden blocks. From printing and drying to dyeing and washing, the workshop will follow the different stages through which the resist creates pattern on fabric.

Through hands-on practice, participants will understand the role of the mud paste, the placement of the block and how the resist interacts with dye to create Dabu’s distinctive patterns and contrasts.

Spend two days exploring the materials and process of Dabu, while learning about the traditional knowledge behind the craft.

The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. All materials will be provided, and lunch is included.
