Holi Colours
Gulal is the essence of Holi. These all-natural gulal colours have been made by Banyan Roots, an enterprise working with communities of forest dwellers in ‘Phulwari ki Nal’, Rajasthan to support indigenous farming techniques and bring local, organic products to urban markets.
Available in four vibrant colours, the gulal is made using traditional recipes and local seasonal flowers like Desi Gulab or Indian Rose, Amaltas or Laburnum, Palash or Flame of the Forest and Rajaka or Alfalfa leaves. These natural Holi colours have been made for a beautiful celebration that is safe for your loved ones and gentle on the environment.
Pink - 100% natural colour extracted from Rose and Beetroot, added to a Cornflour base with Rose Water for fragrance
Green - 100% natural colour extracted from Alfalfa and Spinach, added to a Cornflour base
Yellow - 100% natural colour extracted from Turmeric and Laburnum, added to a Cornflour base
Orange - 100% natural colour extracted from Flame of the Forest (Palash) blossoms and Marigold, added to a Cornflower base
