KORA PATCHES KANTHA TOP
The Kora Patches Kantha Top is crafted by putting together kora (undyed) and white cotton fabrics in varying weights. By using offcuts and production leftovers, no material goes to waste, resulting in a patchwork that is inherently unique.
Kantha is a traditional embroidery practice from Bengal, where layers of fabric are bound together with a simple running stitch. Historically, it was used to mend, reinforce, and give new life to worn textiles. Each patch in the top is hand-embroidered in this manner by artisans associated with Sasha, a not-for-profit organization supporting artisans and craft communities in India, primarily in West Bengal, Odisha, and Bihar.
Along with the kora Kantha fabric, the top is made using light cotton fabric that is handwoven on pit looms in West Bengal.
The Kora Patches Kantha Top & Skirt can be worn together as a set or as separates.
