Shibori is one of the oldest resist dyeing techniques, dating back to 8th century Japan. Over time, shibori has made its way into dyeing practices in cultures all over the world. The essence of shibori is that it records the memory of the resist, creating imprints on the cloth that appear as a repetitive symphony of the shape. Shibori dyeing can be done with the simplest everyday objects that give beautiful results, making this an excellent technique for creative at-home projects.
The SS Clamp is designed for beginners as well as experienced dyers to conduct Itajime or shibori experiments at home. Handcrafted in a studio in Jaipur, the SS clamp is made with stainless steel, making it lightweight and durable.
